City parks and open spaces like Burke Playground improve our physical and psychological health, strengthen our communities, and make our neighborhoods more attractive places to live and work. Numerous studies have shown the social, environmental, economic, and health benefits that parks bring to a city and its people, and Satsuma is proud to be a part of efforts to keep New Orleans’ public parks clean.

On November 11, the Satsuma Realtors team spent the morning cleaning up Burke Playground. More than 10 Satsuma agents spent a few hours together, picking up trash and pressure washing the playground. Furthering Satsuma’s commitment to supporting New Orleans’ communities, investing in local beautification efforts, and promoting safety for local families.

“As a local business owner, I’m proud to spearhead local efforts to keep our city clean. It’s important to me that my son has a safe place to play and explore, and I know all parents feel the same way. Clean parks are part of thriving neighborhoods, and I’m glad families from across the city will be able to enjoy the newly cleaned Burke Playground,” said Joe Gerrity, Managing Broker and Co-Owner of Satsuma Realtors.

Neighborhood parks like Burke Playground attract and connect individuals of all ages and ethnic backgrounds, creating a stronger community. Homeowners usually love being near parks so they have open spaces for their families and pets. Additionally, homes near parks see a 20% increase in value on average!

Satsuma Realtors is committed to supporting its local community. The brokerage plans to continue leading local beautification efforts, bolstering New Orleans’ public spaces, and maintaining relationships with housing-oriented non-profits.
